.מטרת הפסטיבל היא לאפשר לילדים לגלות סרטים חדשים, סיפורים חדשים, עולמות ויזואליים חדשים, ולהביע את דעתם, להצביע לסרט המועדף עליהם
.הפסטיבל הוא גם הזדמנות מצוינת בשביל כל התלמידים להמשיך את הפעילות הלימודית בבית ולשמור על קשר עם המורים
.נוסף לחינוך הקולנועי והאמנותי, הפסטיבל שם לו למטרה להדגיש את המימד החינוכי שבקולנוע, בהעמדתו לצד הספרות והציור כחומר גלם שיכול ללוות ולתמוך בשאר התחומים הנלמדים. מימד חינוכי זה מאפשר לילדים לקבל את האנימציה לא רק כשעשוע אלא ככלי ממשי לתקשורת
